Zurich Airport has two arrival terminals, Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 – and the time it takes to reach the arrivals hall depends on a few factors:
- Which terminal your flight uses
- Whether you’re traveling with checked luggage
- Your country of origin (e.g. EU/Schengen, USA or other overseas destinations)
- The number of other flights arriving at the same time
Terminal 1 is smaller and typically faster to exit around 10–15 minutes, or even less if you have no checked bags. Terminal 2 handles more long-haul and non-Schengen flights, so the process can take 20–30 minutes or more, especially during peak arrival windows.
We include 45 minutes of complimentary waiting time from the moment your flight lands. This covers the time needed to clear the customs and go through the baggage claim area. For arrivals from the U.S. or other long-haul international flights, we extend the included waiting time to up to 60 minutes.
If you’ve arranged VIP arrival service through Zurich Airport or a third-party provider, your EdelSwiss chauffeur will contact the VIP team directly prior to your landing. The VIP service staff will then coordinate the meeting point and escort you from the aircraft to the vehicle. This ensures privacy, proper handover, and timing alignment between the chauffeur and VIP handling team.
Your chauffeur will be inside the arrivals terminal with a name sign. If you arrive at a private jet terminal, the chauffeur will coordinate with FBO staff and meet you at the correct private jet terminal.

We regularly provide transportation for embassy staff, international delegations, and high-level government or security personnel. Our chauffeurs are trained in protocol-based service, operate with full discretion, and are familiar with procedures at diplomatic residences, consulates, and secure facilities. Routes, access points, and timing are reviewed in advance to maintain privacy and control.
Your chauffeur’s name and direct mobile number will be shared between 7:00 PM and 8:00 PM (local Swiss time) the evening before your scheduled transfer. You’ll receive this information by email or text, along with confirmation that your vehicle is assigned and ready. Chauffeurs can be reached via standard mobile, WhatsApp or Viber.
Once your booking details are received, we’ll send a secure link to our payment vault to submit your card details. As soon as we receive the card details as a guarantee, your reservation is confirmed, and you’ll receive a confirmation email with details. All transactions are handled right before the service date.
